This meeting will bring together the Moroccan Scientific Community of North-America. We are expecting 80-100 participants mainly from the States and Canada. The primary goal of the meeting is to create a framework to strengthen the network of Moroccan Scientists by increasing contacts and collaborations. In addition, a well tailored scientific program will expose the latest advancements in the fields of biomedicine, plant diseases, and novel technologies. This meeting will focus on Infectious and Cancer Diseases, as well as a session on pharmaceutical industry. A debate will be animated on the “Voluntary Work”. Finaly, a new Board of Directors will be elected for the next term (June-2008 to May-2010).

2008 dinner event with Dr Zerhouni, NIH Director as Guest of Honor: More than 30 scientists in biomedical filed from Washington DC area, from the Maghreb gathered with Dr. Elias Zerhouni. The dinner was graciously hosted by the Moroccan Ambassador to the US, Mr. Aziz Mekouar. A symbolic Award was presented to Dr. Zerhouni, to acknowledge his efforts in promoting scientific research in the Maghreb region. A video of the event will be projected followed by a discussion about cooperation of scientists from the Maghreb .

Hotel Accommodation :
The Organizing Committee is pleased to offer to participants an accomodation at a negotiated rate. Crowne Plaza Worcester will be the hotel accomodating participants for the meeting. The Hotel is centrally located in downtown Worcester and is within walking distance (0.3 miles) from the conference room. Participants will have double or king rooms avaiable at $106 (+taxes) per night per room. Participants should call the hotel directly (phone: 1-508-791-1600) to reserve their room, you should mention “Biomatec Conference” to get the negotiated rate. This rate will be honored until May 2, 3:30 p.m. However, please be advised space is limited, and the hotel reserves the right to deny this rate if Hotel is overbooked. If you plan to share the room and looking for roomate, please mention that in your Online regitration. The organizers will also arrange free pick-up of participants from Airport, please let us know if you need such a service.
